Wooder Manor is a working family farm of 150 acres, nestling in a picturesque valley in the environmentally sensitive area of the Dartmoor National Park. Surrounded by unspoilt woodland, moors and granite tors, Wooder Manor is the perfect antidote to the stress of modern life.
Wooder Manor, which is set off the road, provides five holiday homes named after the overlooking granite tors. There is a courtyard for safe parking and a large shared garden. Picnic benches are provided.
Adjacent to the manor and with its own drive is Wooder Farm which offers Wooder House and Wooder Cottage as holiday homes. There is a courtyard one side for safe ample parking and a garden to the other with picnic banch. A small side gate connects the two driveways of the Manor and farm together.
All the holiday homes are inspected by the Tourist Board each year and are very well equipped and furnished, including a fitted kitchen, full-sized cooker, microwave oven, fridge , freezer in most cases and a good range of crockery and utensils, colour TV, iron and ironing board and fitted carpets. For our youngest guests, cots, z-beds and highchairs are available free of charge. Duvets, blankets and pillows are supplied and bed linen is available by arrangement.
Central heating is supplied from mid-September to end of May and included in the price (except Wooder Cottage). Each property has a coal effect electric fire, bathroom wall heater and convector/fan heaters. Honeybags Cottage and Wooder House both have log fires with logs included during the winter months. There is a laundry room with washing machine and tumble-dryer and a payphone. Electricity is supplied by £1 coin meters.
Wooder is an ideal location for exploring Dartmoor and touring Devon throughout the seasons. |

Located just 100 metres from the town centre and with ample parking, The Walled Garden offers a quiet and secluded retreat in beautiful gardens, views of Dartmoor and a very warm welcome with traditional English breakfast.
The house was built in 1985 in the walled kitchen garden of a former convalescent home. Granite walls surround the house on three sides and enclose the pleasantly landscaped gardens which our guests may enjoy.
We regret that we do not have the facilities to cater for babies or very young children. Small well-behaved dogs may be accepted with prior notification and will incur a reasonable charge. |
