CONSERVATION WORK

Dartmoor needs friends – and you can be a friend by getting involved in conservation work. The DPA runs regular work parties covering a number of projects from clearing bracken, removing gorse from archaeological sites, surveying Bronze Age cairns and cutting fire breaks to clearing longhouses, rediscovering an old leat and surveying white beak-sedge. Our volunteers have enjoyable days out on the Moor learning about wildlife and getting fit (who needs a gym?) – and you can see results from the hard work. You do not have to be a member to help out but you will enjoy the day helping Dartmoor. Organisations often come out to help with our work. If you would like to get involved please get in touch with the DPA Office, tel: (01822) 890646.
