Wild Food Area at Lydford Gorge
A wild food area will be created in the old plant centre at Lydford Gorge. Moving the plant centre to the area outside visitor reception freed up some space adjacent to the tearoom at the main entrance. Raised beds and pots will contain different herbs and plants, some of which grow in the gorge, including wild strawberries and garlic, mint and lemon balm. Tasters and testers will be available in the tearoom, for example mint or lemon tea. Other herbs and plants which can treat ailments will be planted, with information about their uses.

As usual, the National Trust is putting on a huge range of activities for all tastes and ages throughout the summer months across its Dartmoor properties, with masses of fun days for children during the summer hoilidays.
